Yin Yoga class at KCT

from 12.00

Renew your energy with a weekly Yin Yoga class at Kennebunkport Conservation Trust’s headquarters. The class will be held on Monday mornings from 9 am - 10:15 am starting February 25th. Participants should bring a mat, water bottle and wear layers and socks for warmth (since we practice on the floor). You can purchase an 8 week punch card for $80 or drop in for one session for $12. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Trust.

Angie Luro is a certified 200 YRT, Reiki Master practitioner, professional gardener and animal lover, she draws on her love of the natural world in her Yoga and Reiki practices to bring a deep sense of belonging to her clients.

Angie specializes in small to private Yin Yoga sessions. Yin yoga is a practice of drawing the senses within, pausing to notice and allowing. Yin Yoga is practiced on the earth, with the support of a mat and soft bolsters and blankets which offer comfort as the shapes are held anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes. We look for edge of sensation in Yin Yoga, no pain, no alarm, we find a place we can stay, breath and practice mindfulness. The time we remain in the form allows the connective tissues of the body to release. These tissues are drier and deeper, often overlooked in our regular daily lives. Many have described feelings after a Yin practice as restorative, stress relieving and liken it having had a massage. Yin Yoga also can also be described as an energetic release, which makes it a perfect compliment to Angie’s Reiki practice.
