KCT Welcomes new board member jacqui holmes
The Kennebunkport Conservation Trust is pleased to announce that Jacqui Holmes has joined its Board of Directors. Jacqui is a 2013 graduate of Bates College and is currently working at Kennebunk High School as an Alternative Education teacher. In fact, Jacqui and her colleague, Ed Sharood, were recently named “Maine High School Alternative Educators of the Year” for their work in that capacity. Over the past eight years Jacqui has partnered with KCT through her role as a teacher in the Alt. Ed. program. “Watching the students find a sense of belonging through their work at the Trust has brought me immense joy and a sense of pride. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with an organization that preserves land and places to be accessible for everyone, forever. To me, the Trust exemplifies the Maine motto ‘The way life should be’” In addition to teaching, Jacqui coaches the tennis and cross-country teams at KHS. She loves birds, puzzles, the morning, and being outside. Welcome Jacqui!

Mariah Lang (née Houtz), is a Maine-based artist raised in Kennebunkport where she developed a strong connection to the coast. The majority of her work is inspired by the sea and the movement of water. While spending time on Goat Island, Mariah has enjoyed photographing the island on her Diana Mini 35mm film camera.
100% of the proceeds will support Goat Island Lightstation.

Mission
The Kennebunkport Conservation Trust is dedicated to preserving land for use by current and future generations, and to managing properties in a way that reflects the natural and cultural heritage of Kennebunkport.
Community Conservation
The concept of community conservation is sweeping the country and strengthening communities. It is the practice of blending land preservation, stewardship, member engagement, along with education of natural and historical resources into one program. With this approach, the health of both people and landscapes benefit from one another.
Protected and Conserved Lands
The Kennebunkport Conservation Trust has conserved over 2,800 acres of land from development. While many of those acres are protected purely for the preservation of their ecosystems, numerous properties are open to the public for exploration and recreation.
