Recognizing and Caring Native Pollinators

  • KCT Headquarters 57 Gravelly Brook Road Kennebunkport, ME 04046 (map)

Pollinators are critical for a healthy planet.   Almost 90% of all plant species need pollinators to produce new plants.   Over 75% of all crops grown for food, fiber, and medicines rely on pollinators.  But their populations are in trouble here in the United States and worldwide.  Habitat loss and fragmentation, pesticide use, and disease are all impacting native pollinators.  But there are ways to work together to reverse this trend.

Join Maine Master Naturalist Jeanne Christie for a conversation/presentation to learn who are native pollinators are, what they need to thrive and concrete actions you can take to support them.
