When former First Lady Barbara Bush passed away in April of 2018 it seemed as though everyone in Kennebunkport, Maine had a story to tell.  Hers was a great loss, both to this small coastal town where she had spent so many wonderful years and to the nation.  As the reality sunk in that we would no longer be seeing her at the local store, church or walking the dog on the beach we began to remember with great fondness her wit, her humor, her love of family and of this community.  A collection of those stories are gathered here, written by some of the many every day people whose lives she touched in the Kennebunks, and accompanied by beautiful photographs.  In addition, some Walker's Point guests like Teri Hatcher, John Meacham and the Oak Ridge Boys have added a remembrance.  The last touching thought is by President George H. W. Bush. Proceeds from the book will be used to endow Ganny's Garden, the Kennebunkport garden created in Barbara's honor and memory. The stories told are in people's own words, as they remember our beloved Barbara.

The book was published by the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust and designed by Dietz Associates, Inc. 108 pages, soft cover.
