"My school at Cape Porpoise" it says on the back side of this photograph, at the head of a list of names written with a steel-nib pen. At the bottom is a notation faded to illegibility, followed by the name Chester Wildes; probably he was absent the day the photographer came. At center, rear is teacher Elizabeth Rowe Irving.

Bill Johnson who owns this print estimates its date as 1920.
