“Roses”

“Here are roses, Mommy!”  She smiled and then ran off to play.

I looked down with fond amusement at her treasure of the day.

Crumpled from her little hands, yet beautiful they lay,

 for their joy is in the message that they brought to me to say.

‘Your garden is the whole wide earth; Its’ joy transmitted – free!

“I love you” smiles from every flower you pick on bended knee.

“I love you” is the message from flower to her to me.

For dandelions are roses when you are only three.”
