Education Intern - Fall (Aug-Dec)& Spring (Jan-May) Semesters

Our education interns get hands on experience in environmental education, public outreach, and program development. Working alongside our education staff, the bulk of interning is engaging K-5 students during field trips to various Trust owned properties. Interns may also complete individual program projects, assist with social media, and work towards expanding program development. Successful interns will work well with children, be good verbal communicators, and have time management skills. This is a position with some flexibility to work towards intern interests. Please note, while scheduling can be flexible to fit intern course schedules, field trips are pre-scheduled each year and typically fall on Tuesdays/Thursdays/Fridays.

Internships are unpaid but can be done for college credit.

Historical Preservation Intern - Fall, Spring & Summer Opportunity

A brand new internship! Love history? Reading local tales and stories? A knack for organization and technology? This internship works alongside our Executive Director and education staff to preserve our Trust and community’s history. Interns will archive documents, create a data base, collect video and oral histories, and develop online accessible materials on our website. Successful interns will be self-directed, detail oriented, and understand the importance of connecting to our past history. This position is flexible to a student’s schedule during office staff time. Office is open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.

  • Fall Internships late August (flexible start) - early December (flexible end)

  • Spring Internships late January (flexible start) - early May (flexible end)

  • Summer Internships 1st week of June - 3rd week of August

Summer Education and Recreation Intern

Summer interns at the Trust work alongside our Assistant Director of Programs & Outreach to create, develop, and implement summer programming for kids and families in our community. These programs include summer camps, morning programs, community collaborations, and more. Interns will be responsible for developing at least one solo program and leading one week of camp. Successful interns will be energetic, creative, and good with children. Please note, summer schedules can be built around other work hours, but due to the nature of our summer programming, occasional weekend work may be required and camp weeks are mandatory. Camp weeks usually span late June - late July. You may also do summer internships for course credit! Be sure to check with your college/university before signing up to make sure you can get paid while completing credits.

  • Summer Internships start May 31st and end August 13th.

while interns can put in as many hours they choose, Interns will only be stipend for a maximum of 200 hours work.
