Lace up and join us for our first trail race of the 2017 season!  Beautiful single and double track trails wind through the woods and along the Batson River. Pick your distance. 5K, 10K, HALF or FULL Marathon. The Kids "Mile of Smiles on the Discovery Loop" is a blast for the whole family.

June 17th -  Visit a Shipping Village, Clem Clark Boathouse 3-4 pm

Join Barbara Barwise and Sharon Cummins Saturday, on Saturday, June 17th from 3-4 at the Clement Clark Boathouse for an illustrated tour of Kennebunkport and Lower Village Shipyards from 1841 to 1975. Explore the Maritime heritage that made Kennebunkport. Get to know the Rum makers, sailmakers, ropewalkers, West Indies Men, Sea Captains, Privateers and Shipbuilders, where they worked and where they lived. No fee, however donations to save Town House School greatly appreciated.

June 23rd - Summer Camp Preview Gala at Sandy Pines Campground

Join us for a night of "Summer Camp" at the Sandy Pines Campground.  The reveal of this newly renovated campground will be a night like no other!  The evening will feature live music by Sultans of Swing, creative fare from Kitchen Chicks Catering and tours of luxe designer safari tents......glamping, anyone???  The Kennebunkport Conservation Trust is honored to be named as one of four nonprofits that will be awarded proceeds from the event.  All tickets sales will benefit KCT, Graves Library, Southern Maine Health Care Auxiliary and Community Harvest Project.

June 24 - July 2 - Summer Camp: A Luxe Designer Tent Showcase

Sandy Pines Campground is pleased to host Summer Camp - A Luxe Designer Tent Showcase, from June 24th through July 2nd, 2017. Visitors can get a glimpse of glamping when they tour 12 uniquely designed luxe safari tents. Each tent reflects the vision and style of 12 New England designers; Annie Stickney Designs, James Light Interiors, Nicola's Home, Antiques on Nine, Hurlbutt Designs, Lisa Teague Studios, Spaces Kennebunkport, Ingunn Joergensen, Favela Chic, EcoHome Studio, Huffard House and Chatfield Designs.

Ticket proceeds from the Designer Showcase to benefit four non-profit organizations: Kennebunkport Conservation Trust, Southern Maine Health Auxiliary, Louis T. Graves Memorial Library, and Community Harvest Project.

Tours Available: Daily, from 11am - 4pm, June 24th - July 2nd

Tickets: $15 in advance; $20 at the door.


June 28th - Dare to be Wild movie screenings, Saco Cinemagic Theater

A movie event with special guest, filmmaker Vivienne de Courcy, is presented by Union Church, and is a fundraiser for the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust and Clifford Park in Biddeford. A unique and exciting movie event unavailable anywhere in the US.

DARE TO BE WILD is a romantic adventure inspired by real life Mary Reynolds, a young landscape designer determined to preserve wild nature, who dares to compete in the Olympics of Gardening – The Chelsea Garden Show. Written and directed by Irish filmmaker, Vivienne de Courcy, the film is a triumphant story, and an invitation to restore the wild spaces in our gardens and our lives.

July 17 - 21 – Flying High Summer Camp, ages 4 - 8

Summer Environmental Camp with the Trust! Ages 4-8, Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. $250 per child, limited enrollment. Campers will split their time between Kennebunkport Conservation Trust properties and Cocoons Day School.

This week is all about our feathered friends from the red-tailed hawk who resides at the Emmons Preserve to the guls that steal our sandwiches at the beach. Spend a week hiking and bird watching with binoculars and learning how every bird is perfectly adapted for their environment, from their talons and beaks to feathers and feet. Monday and Friday explore at Cocoons Day School. Find out if there are eggs in the birdhouses and discover what is flying around the vernal pools. Tuesday through Thursday, have fun at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust Headquarters exploring the forest and fields and make your own birdfeeders. We'll walk out to the islands of Stage Harbor and find more feathered friends who visit us on the shore. There will be other surprise visitors flying in with stories just for you! Don't miss your chance to soar in Kennebunkport!


August 14 - 18 - Explorers Unite Summer Camp, ages 8 - 11

Summer Environmental Camp with the Trust! Ages 8 - 11, Monday through Friday from 9am-3pm. $250 per child, limited enrollment. Campers will split their time between Kennebunkport Conservation Trust properties and Cocoons Day School.

Get ready for high adventure! Campers will spend Monday and Friday at Cocoons Day School where they will learn about different explorers and their journeys, as well as take some big journeys of their own to explore their our community. Learn how boats are built and about the first boats that came from the Kennebunk River and sailed around the world. Learn how to navigate around the woods using the tools to be an adventurer. Tuesday through Thursday will be held at the Kennebunkport Conservation Trust Headquarters. We will supply plenty of opportunities to explore new territory on a mountain bike trek, hike trails to tasty destinations, and even adventure out to an island to see how the first explorers in Cape Porpoise came here. You might even find some artifacts alongside the archeology dig out on Stage Island!


August 20th – Summerfest!  KCT Headquarters

Join us for our third annual Summerfest event at our headquarters on Gravelly Brook Road!  The festivities will include trail races, a human foos ball tournament, lawn games, live music and great food!  Event tickets are coming soon!  You can register for the 5K, 10K, half marathon, marathon or kids run below.....happy running!

October 8th – Trust Trail Fest!  KCT Headquarters

Lace up and get ready for the finals of our trail race series!  Run a 5K, 10K, half marathon or marathon on our beautiful trails that wind throughout Kennebunkport.  The festival also includes a kids fun run, prizes, live music and good eats!  Registration is now open!
