KCT Thought of the Week, June 16, 2017
Long years ago near the lone oak tree
Was the ‘Swimmin’Hole’ where small boys came
Ere yet the winter had turned to spring,
Here, too, the ‘Eel Bridge,’ now but a name.
Stone’s oaks are waiting as green as when
Erect they stood ‘neath the July sun;
And whisper stories of Skipper Joe’s,
Real stories once told when day was done.”
